Project Implementation

The SchoolWebRadio project brings together three of the most sensitized and active schools in both areas of human rights and environment. All the participating organisations were chosen after a thorough discussion through eTwinning platform/webex teams platform and showed that they had considerable previous experience and competences in working on similar and international projects as seen in our application. The successful Partners have experience in the delivery and management of (EU) projects and their contact persons are shown to be excellent communicators, enterprising and innovative, with strong interpersonal skills, high degree of flexibility, have a high degree of social and cultural awareness, able to multitask and have a “can-do” attitude and finally shown to have the ability to work on own initiative. In addition to that, the associated partners committed to support the promotion of the project in terms of disseminating informational material and, to communicate the objectives to both internal and external interested persons and organisations.

Each partner school was asked to conduct a SWOT analysis in order to establish what they could add to the project roles and activities (their strengths), what they needed from the project (their weaknesses). Our planed and agreed Project Charter Included among other things a structured management organization in which the hierarchy of the project team is described. Agreed roles, responsibilities, methods and agreeing and monitoring learning outcomes for participants, ensured quality learning outcomes, as well as good administration and delivery of the project, facilitated participants active involvement and reflection to ensure the relevance and quality of these outcomes. Communications is a critical deliverable of every successful project and a key project management soft-skill. With a well-designed project charter, communication and cooperation with partners and external stakeholders has been flourished. Upon approval, each school created a Project management board, with the Cyprus coordinatingschool being the overall project manager, comprising of the following positions: -School project coordinator(s) -School project budget managers -School project Task Managers -School project dissemination manager -School project ICT expert -Student project representative.

Responsibilities of Project management boards of each partner school:

  • The role and contribution of each partner school was joint coordination and management of the partnership relating to academic, administrative and financial aspects. Each partner school put forward its best practices, experience, institutional capacity and knowledge to fulfil the specific tasks to ensure outreach, visibility, and performance of the project.
  • Each contributed to the project according to the common methodology. Working closely with students and staff, ensured compliance with internal and external operational policies, duties and obligations in the provision and management of each Erasmus mobility and or activity. • Partner school coordinated their pupils & teachers in local activities/results and in common activities/results which were carried out between motilities.

The Cyprus coordinating school (Project Coordinator), being the overall project manager had the following responsibilities.

  • Ensured accountability and smooth and efficient running of all activities.
  • Undertook responsibility for reporting to the National Agency, ensuring accurate records are kept. • Ensured adequate support and preparatory activities are provided to all participants in the project. • Develoedp and disseminated relevant documentation and other resources to ensure the quality of the experience abroad (staff and student guidance, pre-departure checklists, final reports, student feedback, etc).
  • Ensured effective management of relationships with the Erasmus+ National Agencies and other external partners.
  • Was responsible for monitoring the information flow between all partners by means of Skype group, email, mail & phone calls in English.
