Goal - SWRadio: Opposition to Racism and Fanaticism.

All countries participated in the development of common results/activities as well as undertaking the responsibility to design and develop results of their own. The project activities directly relate to the goals of the project. Partner schools coordinated their pupils & teachers in local activities and in common activities which were carried out between mobilities. We have split our project goals and our commitment to using creativity, innovation and artistic expression into four target categories as shown below. Over a period of 24 months, each category will be mapped/married with both local and common activities. Partner schools engaged teachers and students with two target categories every year.

Activities C2/A1: All students and teachers participated in the development of common results/activities (transnational co-productions) as well as undertook the responsibility to design and develop results of their own. C2 project activities directly relate to Year 1 goals of the project that is: Opposition to racism and fanaticism. Results: • develop personal and common broadcasts related to Year 1 goals.

 Activities C2/A2: Presentation of the platform, namely, the Web Radio and Web Radio Portal, the educational material, educational scenarios, the guides and tutorials. Presentation of how the SWRadio will support the educational process and at the same time provides an approach to digital and media literacy for students in secondary education. Exchange of teacher activities (what works in terms of innovative methods and pedagogies). Results: • Understanding of the importance of Web Radio Portal and SWRadio. • Strengthening of the cooperation and networking between our organisations.

 Activities C2/A3: Participants got involved with workshops. The workshops were hands on experience and will work on preparation, organisation and recording of audio shows. Results: • Students had the opportunity to pose questions about the web radio for schools and share their views with others.

Activities C2/A4: Partner school from Patra explained the technological background needed for the new SWRadio project.

The students participated in transnational co-productions enriched their creativity and innovation and improved their skills at the area of arts, media, journalism and sound engineering. In this context the proposed project developed basic and transversal skills using an innovative method with educational added value, the Web Radio Portal. C2 activities seeked action by student themselves on preventing and dealing with racist incidents and promote change in the environment for the cultivation of values, such as equality and respect for the rights of all. C2 activities build on solid voice for peace, highlight the broader values that should distinguish our youth, values such as tolerance, respect, acceptance of diversity, equity and opposition to the rhetoric of hate.

In addition to the above, we expected students to: • transfer abilities learned during the partnership into useful competences for everyday life. • develop their problem-solving strategies and ability to compromise. • integrate personal skills into school and project activities. • develop critical thinking. • share relevant information about their culture, in particular their lifestyle & traditions with their European partners. • promote inter-cultural education. • become tolerant towards “others” and help combat racial issues. • help promote language learning and linguistic diversity at secondary school level across Europe. • ensure the participation of pupils who are socio-economically disadvantaged or have special educational needs, they have the most need for such exchanges. • gain experience in inputting data and presenting it. we expected teachers to: • share experiences with partner schools concerning methods of teaching; • increase the teachers’ skills in English using ICT. • make the school curriculum more attractive by incorporating the project activities into it, where possible. • help turn school into a place where the pupils and the teachers live and work with pleasure.

Message from project coordinator

I would like to thank all participants and let them know that their comments enabled us to better plan and execute future meetings and tailor them to meet their needs. The meeting fulfilled both the established objectives and participants personal expectations. Our commitment to the project fulfilling the responsibilities set out for this project meeting.

All participants will take home, good memories and atmosphere of hosting country. Innovative ideas and inspiration for further work. Useful discussion/information/exchange of experience, ideas. New contacts/friends.

Goal - SWRadio: Evaluation, implementation, coordination and management of project.

 

School Project coordinators and task managers participated in this transnational project meeting lasting 3 days.

Activity C1/A1: All Teachers participated in workshops about designing project website, eTwinning and blog network, and youtube channel. Teachers also participated in workshops about Monitor the information flow between all partners by means of Skype group, e-mail, mail & phone.

Results: 1) A link to the project webpage was added to each school’s website to disseminate the activities & mobilities. Each school created a blog that was linked to the web page of the project.

Activity C1/A2: Web Radio understandings. A thorough analysis of the current operating network Web Radio and platform, European School Radio - Greece (http://europeanschoolradio.eu).

Results: 1) Radio and Web Radio Terms, definitions and Radio etiquette - a Booklet. 2) An analytical Study on a current Web Radio - “European School Radio” (ESRadio) in Greece, a web radio case. A thorough description and understandings (procedures, modules, processes, technologies, structures, datasets).

Activity C1/A3: A Definition and requirement analysis of a networked Web Radio Model for schools European-wide. This involves a detailed description of the components required to set up the above described model, from local to transnational.

Results: 1) A short but comprehensive report on the demands and prerequisites in order to set up an European-wide networked School Web Radio. 2) An analysis on the improvements needed for the new Web Radio compared to ESRadio. A clear description of improvements: organization, responsibilities, procedures, processes and structures, languages. Procedures involve: Registration requirements, Organization of the radio groups (preparation, training, support, recording and other, of the pupils in and outside the school), Communication with coordinators of the web radio, Recording and editing module, Scheduling audio shows in a radio programme, Live Shows, Posting and live chatting on Web Radio Portal and social media, Matching partners and cooperative work, Podcasting, explained, Collecting Statistics, such as ratings, usage; and other. 3) Explored potential cooperations with other projects and networked european platforms which are already used by the education and school community, such as eTwinning, Photodentro (http://photodentro.edu.gr/lor/?locale=en ) , Open Discovery Space (http://opendiscoveryspace.eu) and Europeana (http://www.europeana.eu/ ) and other.

The role and contribution of these transnational project meeting was for all participants to gain skills that will help them to joint evaluation, implementation, coordination and management of the partnership relating to academic, administrative and financial aspects. These project meeting was necessary for confirming and shaping the future activities and finalizing practical aspects of the project. Also the purpose of this meeting was to exchange of teachers activities (what works in terms of innovative methods and pedagogies), that will strengthen the cooperation and networking between partner organisations. Coordinators and task managers addressed project needs, updated and collected information and gain necessary skills. This ensured maximum management efficiency and resource management in order to maximize fruitful cooperation and successful outcomes.

Outcomes: • Gaining necessary skills regarding project website, eTwinning, social media, etc. • Understanding Web Radio • Requirement analysis of the web radio model.
